Ornamental Cannabis Plant - Big Bud

Big Bud has long been famous as a cannabis strain with breathtaking yields. It is less well known for its superior Indica pedigree, improved over the years with careful refinement.
Big Bud was first developed in the USA before the strain was taken to Holland in the 1980s seeking political asylum.
As the war on drugs intensified, pioneering US breeders feared losing irreplaceable ganja lines that represented years of work, study and devotion. Many unique and favored genotypes were brought to Holland to ensure they were not lost forever.
The first Big Bud was a robust Afghani infused with Skunk genetics – a hybrid that possessed unusual vigor and unexpected record-breaking production. Released in cutting form, Big Bud quickly became a very popular commercial strain. When these original cuttings reached Holland, they gave rise to several stable lines, including a backcross between Skunk#1 and a very popular hybrid of 75%BB – 25%NL#1.
The current, award-winning incarnation of Big Bud was made possible by two important developments. First, the intensive research that allowed Sensi to identify the genotype and precise geographical origin of the Afghani family behind the original Big Bud. Second, the expansion of the gene pool in the early 1990s, which gave Sensi breeders access to a primary example of this line.
Thanks to these two breakthroughs, we were able to bring Big Bud back to her roots. Sensi's latest backcross hybrid recaptures the vigor of the original cutting and enjoys the sweet, fruity flavor and a huge improvement in potency.
Of course, the big yield remains the primary quality of the Big Bud strain. Plants that need a full flowering time grow a bit taller and are usually a good example of a harvest. Big Bud trunks are thick and sturdy, yet the mass of giant, sweet, and sparkling buds that this plant produces can become heavy enough to bend and even break them. For this reason, the most promising branches should be supported with twine or held under tension.
